I have became ultra organized about this whole
wedding planning process let me tell you. Now, I am not much of a planning
person (I am a teacher though so it's kinda programmed in.) I also am not big
on crazy extravagant themes. I am very simplistic in my fashion, design, decor,
etc. This is not to say that my Pinterest is not overflowing with ideas. I have
went a little crazy on that part I do believe. But, hey, you can never have
enough ideas I don't think.
Anyways...
The planning has begun and here is where I am so
far!
The Date
July 20, 2013
Now, I was never one to think about my wedding
hardly AT ALL growing up, but when I did I had always imagined a fall wedding.
Then.... I became a teacher. Summer is the only option. Also, Tim's brother and
his fiancee are getting married April 13. We figured we space it out a little
for Tim's parent's sake :) A beautiful (and hopefully not scorching hot) summer
wedding it is.
The Venue
The Mavris Arts and Event Center -
Downtown Indianapolis
This was my DREAM. LOCATION. And really, the only
place I could see myself getting married. I had seen pictures from a friend's
wedding and I just knew. This was even back before I met Tim! Before I even had
wedding bells in my near future (Geez what a difference a year makes...)
I am beyond excited to get married here. Beyond!
Can you say hello gorgeous wood floors and exposed brick?
Colors
Navy & Coral
(with some Gray)
This was a tricky one for me. I knew navy would be
in the mix but the other color was up in the air. I ended up with coral because I
loved all the different pink, orange, red hues I can incorporate. Hello
beautiful! I also plan to hopefully use many patterns such as polka dots (my
favorite), chevron and floral.
Next up on the planning list - engagement party
planning, engagement pictures, and thrift store shopping for centerpieces....
(along with 2987354 things I am sure I will think of)
and p.s. I have been working on a wedding website - mywedding.com/timandjami
Don't forget, I said "working". Not done yet :)
